Preheat the oven to 350° F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Mix all ingredients together. Drop the dough by the teaspoonful onto cookie sheets. Bake 12 to 15 minutes until golden.

Peanut Butter Bars

Barbara e-mailed this sweet and salty bar cookie. The dough is quite stiff and best prepared in a standing mixer while scraping down the sides frequently.

For the bars:

· 2 cups flour

· 2 tsps. baking powder

· 1 tsp. baking soda

· 1/2 tsp. salt

· 1/2 cup shortening

· 1/2 cup white sugar

· 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

· 2 egg yolks

· 1 tsp. vanilla

· 3 Tbsps. cold water

· 1 - 12 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips
